Holiday Weekend

 I have been wanting to go to this hot air balloon launch for several years now.  This year we finally made it.  I was really neat and they weren't even able to launch because of bad weather at 500 feet.  So next year should be super fun. 

 

Luke was mesmerized by the fire, that kept the balloons inflated he just kept chanting fire, fire.  So we thought what a perfect time to introduce him to the joys of a campfire.  Later that evening we headed up the canyon for a hot dog roast...a good time was had by all.

This weekend we went to an amusement park.  We had a blast, just taking it easy and watching Luke ride the kiddie rides.  Plus there were several rides we all got to go on together.  Hands down the hit of the day was the splash pad fountain.  Luke could have spent all day in there.  When other little kids were timidly putting their fingers in the streams of water, Luke would run full force and tackle it.  He is a water bug through and through.  It was so fun to just watch him having the time of his life, those are the best times. 

Father's Day Pics

Seems like rarely in life do things turn out quite like you expect them.  But Bryan is every bit the father I hoped he would be.  I won't go into details, really just wanted to show the cute pictures.  But I am blessed beyond measure to have these two in my life.

Happy Birthday to the cutest two year old in the world!  Wow time flies!  Luke is just the joy of our lives.  He brings adventure and fun and keeps us on our toes.  He is so smart and friendly, jovial, charming, sweet, and crazy.   I love him to pieces.

Mungous (the word humongous...mongous hugs, mongous kisses, mongous suckers, mongous blankets)
Grandmas ( he even finds grandma in the store that aren't his own - he just thinks if you are an older woman you are going to give him everything he ever wanted and never tell him no)
Bugs(we go out and put some in a cup almost everyday)
Bandaids, neosporin, and kisses that heal all
Nemo
Kicking the ball to the moon with Daddy

We love our Grandpa more!

My Grandpa Lindsay passed away.  We miss him dearly but I am grateful for the peace that has come.  He was truly one of the best men I have known.  To Luke he was Grandpa More.  It started because Grandpa always had a treat in his pocket and Luke seemed to pick up on that pretty quick and whenever he saw him he would say more more.  Then as Luke got older Grandpa started to have him blow on the candy and then "throw" it in the air.  It was so sweet to see them develop a relationship. My Grandpa was such a fixture in my growing up years and it meant so much for me that he was able to meet Luke and get to know and grow to love him.  I was sort of able to relive a bit of my childhood.

He sealed Bryan and I.  And then 6 years later sealed Luke to us.  Bryan and I were discussing about he always made us feel special.  Whenever we came to a family party it felt like he was waiting for us.  I talked to my cousins and they felt the same way he had an amazing way of showing love and caring about each individual. 

As I try to think of my favorite memories of Grandpa almost all of them are of Grandpa and Grandma.  They were such a great team.  I feel like in these days we really prize dependence...but to me they were a great example of interdependence.  This is something Bryan and I strive for. 

I am forever grateful for the impact he made in my life, he makes me want to be better.  To remember the things that are truly important.
